Installation art was developed in the late 1950s.

Installation art is a form of art of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space.

What these art installations have in common is their ability to create impact.

1 — The Arc de Triomphe wrapped, 2021.

L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped (1961–2021) is the greatest work of public art worldwide shown in 2021 and arguably one of the top public artworks of all time.

The “L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped”. It was a dream by Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

The Arc de Triomphe was erected by the wishes of Napoleon Bonaparte. The wrapped arch was a salute to circumstantial beauty.

It was temporary. 16 days.

It was lightweight. It was responsive to the wind the changing light and the world around it.

2 — Installation by Artist Chiharu Shiota.

She collected 10,000 letters from people around the globe and strung them together with a scarlet thread. She wished to instill hope in others.
