A House, a Different House, What is a House
A house is a machine for living in. ~Le Corbusier
Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, was a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer, and one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture. He was born in Switzerland and became a French citizen in 1930.
Le Corbusier’s student project, designed and built, the Villa Fallet, a chalet in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland (1905)
House history:
Little is known about the earliest origin of the house and its interior, however it can be traced back to the simplest form of shelters.
Roman architect Vitruvius’ theories have claimed the first form of architecture as a frame of timber branches finished in mud, also known as the primitive hut.
According to Vitruvius, architecture is an imitation of nature.
As birds and bees build their nests, so humans constructed housing from natural materials, that gave them shelter.
