It is a reality of building that not every project is destined for success.
There are numerous unfinished buildings that remain partially constructed in countries around the world.
And some of them can be used in their incomplete state but others remaining as a mere shell.
And some projects are intentionally left with an unfinished appearance.
The Sagrada Família, Barcelona
The Sagrada Familia is a work in progress since 1882.
It has been under construction since then, and planned to be complete by 2026 for Gaudí’s death centenary.
The Sagrada Família is a project of the architect Antoni Gaudí, who spent most of his life building it up into a grotesque work of art.
Tragically he passed away in 1926, after being hit by a tram.
His project was less than a quarter complete at that time.
