Working With Distractions in a Pop Up Studio

Regia Marinho

--

You may know where the pop up studio is…a Starbucks.
I need to take a walk for about 25 minutes to get there.

Baristas know me by the name, but still some newbies ask for it.

I work with distractions. I make drawings, write something, take pictures, create images under specification for big spaces…with people talking on the phone, baristas call people’s name, chatty people, kids running…

But, sometimes is so crowded and noisy that I have to leave and then come back later on.

Besides work there I have a lot of fun taking people pictures or send an airdrop to myself just to see who, the name of the person, that is very close to me.

I usually got inspired by strangers.

Having a chai latte or a coffee overhearing people is something that helps my work.

As I said before, take pictures of people is one of the best thing to do there.

AirDrop some pics to the next guy.

Sketch on a napkin.

Drawing on a proper paper pad or on my tablet.

Writing something somehow to post on Medium.

Make digital drawings and post on Etsy.
