Are the clocks going back in 2020? For some people it’s time to move the clocks again.
Daylight saving time officially ends 2 AM local time Sunday, Nov. 1.
If things I’m talking about electronics doesn’t change automatically… people move their clocks back one hour before they go to bed on Halloween night, Saturday, Oct. 31.
What was the original reason for Daylight Savings Time?
Two years into World War I clocks in the German Empire, and Austria, were turned ahead by one hour on April 30, 1916. In order to minimize the use of artificial lighting to save fuel for the war effort. Within a few weeks, the idea was followed by the United Kingdom, France, and many other countries.
