The Guernica tapestry.

What happened.

It was in February 2021, while the UN headquarters was deserted without its employees, forced to work from home.

The great tapestry disappeared from the entrance of the Security Council without any explanation being given by the family, which lent it to the UN more than three decades ago.

Commissioned in 1955 by Nelson Rockefeller, the tapestry taken from the work of Pablo Picasso, depicting the bombing of the city of Guernica on April 26, 1937, by Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, was woven by French Jacqueline de La Baume-Dürrbach.

Guernica tapestry is hanging again on the United Nations wall.

The family regrets it and the tapestry has now been returned to the UN with the possibility…
