The 1990–91 Case about the cocoa plantation on the southern Bahia, Brazil.

This is about how the man ambitious and selfishness can or may create a disaster and make life of people dramatically worse.

One hypothesis is the witch’s broom was placed in the south of Bahia by people who brought pieces of leaves and branches from the Amazon rainforest and tied them to cocoa trees.

Witches’ broom is a deformity in a woody plant, typically a tree, where the natural structure of the plant is changed. A dense mass of shoots grows from a single point, with the resulting structure resembling a broom or a bird’s nest. It is sometimes caused by pathogens. Wikipedia.

It’s similar to a broom.

Witches’ broom is a natural pest in the Amazon Region, and is being considered one of the most threatening in cocoa tree and other plants.

And when control measures are not adopted on first appearance, the pest progresses rapidly through wind and water, completely compromising production.
