Security or surprises, What do you prefer?

I realize most people want security but they don’t realize it kills serendipity. I think is better to leave room for surprises. Then life will be more exciting.

The word serendipity.

The name comes from Serendip, an old name for Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The word has been translated to many languages, with the meaning of “unexpected discovery” or “fortunate chance”.

The term “serendipity” is also applied to inventions made by chance and not by people's intentions.

Serendipity is an unplanned interesting fortunate discovery.

Serendipity is an occurrence all over the history of product creation and discovery. It does not happen inside your comfort zone. You have to move. You have to be open to new possibilities.

It’s something that happens when you’re not expecting it.

It’s your choice…security or serendipity. The former doesn’t promote the second.

To create your own things you need ideas. And ideas come more frequently from serendipity situations.

You’ll need to create opportunities for new ideas and take action about them. And that means you’re growing.
