The Oriente Train Station in Lisbon.

It was a nightmare to leave the “Estação Oriente” in Lisbon.

After spending a delightful few days in Porto, I boarded the AP train, eager to return to Lisbon.

The trip took me 3 good hours that I spent writing and communicating with my laptop. The train wifi was working properly.

However, as I arrived at the Lisbon train station (Aug 5), I found myself in an unexpected predicament.

The bustling station was packed with an ocean of people from all corners of the globe, and a wave of claustrophobia washed over me.

I felt in some ways lost and unsure of how to reach my hotel via the subway train.

Navigating through the sea of travelers proved to be a daunting task.

Each person seemed to be in a hurry, and it felt like the entire world had gathered in Lisbon to witness a momentous event — the Pope.

Feeling overwhelmed, I took a moment to compose myself and tried to spot any sign or direction for the subway.

However, it was not easy amidst the crowd. And every escalator was not working.
