The Coat of Arms From the Garbage Bin of Lisbon Inspired Me to Create One For Myself
One "Brasão" for RegiaArt.
Today I woke up and walked around and found out that a lot of garbage bins are on the street of Lisbon.
Each one of them has an arm of cots of the city and each of them has its own address.
It caught my attention.
And then I…Why? What is the meaning of the coat of arms?
A coat of arms is a symbol that represents a specific family or person. Originally appearing on shields or flags, coats of arms were once used as a way of distinguishing one knight from another on a battlefield.
In the heart of Lisbon, a city rich with history and culture, lies a fascinating tale of inspiration that began in the most unexpected place:
A garbage bin.
This story centers around a unique Coat of Arms of the city.
This humble emblem ignited a spark of creativity and imagination in me, prompting me to embark on a journey of self-expression and heritage by crafting a Coat of Arms of my own.
