Let’s look at another pandemic from the past.

The plagues forced people into quarantine for years. But centuries ago Isaac Newton used the time to revolutionize the world.

I think it would be good to look at other pandemics from the past to see what they gave the world.

Besides pain and loss, the plagues forced seclusion. And encouraged smart people to make discoveries and create great artistic and scientific works.

Thank the pandemics for calculus and physics discoveries

In 1665, the plague forced the young Isaac Newton to flee from his studies at the University of Cambridge to his mother’s farm in Woolsthorpe, where he stayed for two years.

During those two years, Newton’s genius exploded with a force that is hard to understand.

He made full use of mastery of mathematics probably unrivaled by anyone in Europe at the time create with unprecedented originality what would become transformative works in the history of science, which early biographers called the Anni mirabilis (“marvelous years”).
