According to Kandinsky, color has an intense spiritual connotation.

“To a sensitive soul, the effect of colors is deeper and intensely moving. They produce a corresponding spiritual vibration, and it is only as a step towards this spiritual vibration that the elementary physical impression is of importance.” — Kandinsky.

First Abstract Watercolor, 1910.

Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky was a Russian painter and art theorist who is widely considered one of the pioneers of abstract art.

Born on 16 December 1866 — Moscow, Russian Empire.

Died on 13 December 1944 (aged 77) — Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.

He was particularly interested in the relationship between art and spirituality and believed that colors had a powerful effect on our emotions and inner selves.

Kandinsky believed that colors had their own personalities and that they could be used to convey different moods and emotions.
