The Yellow Track (Brick) Road
Corn spilled on the tracks … the ducks, turkeys and deer haven’t found it.
It makes a beautiful yellow track road.
Mike Parker noticed an unusual thing near his house. The train tracks were completely covered in yellow corn.
It happen just a few days ago on a cold winter day in Crystal, Minnesota.
And it resembled the Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard of Oz.
After took a picture of the tracks, Parker shared it on Twitter on Jan. 5.
People thought his photo was fake.
The spill was too clean and there were no animals eating the corn.
But, it was real.
The spill occurred on the Canadian Pacific rail line in about 2,000 feet long.
How does that much corn fall out of a moving train?
Grain hoppers (train car), typically have 3–4 bays on them.
Because the customer didn’t properly close and latch the dump gate on that particular bay…
And the whole car won’t empty, just the bay with the open door/gate.
They said that the amount of corn lost to the tracks was about $3,500 worth of the grain.
