A recent article in the New York Times titled "Meet the Peecyclers. Their Idea to Help Farmers" catch my attention.

"A shortage of chemical fertilizer, worsened by the war in Ukraine, has growers desperate. It just so happens that human urine has the very nutrients that crops need."

Human urine is full of the same nutrients that plants need to flourish.

Farmers apply those nutrients, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to crops in the form of chemical fertilizers.

This is an old Henry Moule’s earth closet that was patented in 1873.

Example from around 1875. Rear chamber for dispensing of cover material.

In that NYTimes article, Ms. Kate Lucy said… at first, collecting urine was “a little sloshy”.

From NYTimes.

We make this amazing fertilizer with our bodies…so the idea is to use it to help farms and not depend on fertilizers imported to grow their plantation.
