What is a Technical Glitch or Creative Glitch?
As someone who’s spent countless hours staring at screens both professionally and personally, I’ve developed a complicated relationship with glitches.
They’re simultaneously my worst enemy, and delight, and my unexpected teacher.
A technical glitch, in my experience, is that moment when technology decides to have its agenda.
It’s the spinning wheel of death when I’m trying to submit something five minutes before a deadline.
It’s my phone autocorrecting “on my way” to “on my way” at the worst possible moment.
It’s the video call that freezes me mid-sentence with the most unflattering expression possible, leaving me looking like I’m having an existential crisis when I’m just trying to explain quarterly reports.
But here’s what I’ve learned: technical glitches are honest in a way that polished technology isn’t.
They show you what’s happening under the hood.
