“Abstract art is a fundamental distrust of the theory of reality concocted by the eyes.” ~Robert Breault.

Abstract art, non-figurative art, non-objective art, and non-representational art are similar styles or very close to each other.

They can be similar, but not of identical meaning.

Abstract art uses visual language of shape, form, colors and lines to create a composition independent from visual references in the world.

I usually begin a drawing painting with one line…and then the artwork evolves around that line.

Abstraction indicates the artwork is leaving the reality behind. I love that. This departure from precise representation can be slight, partial, or complete.

“Sometimes, to pursue a new idea, the artist must forfeit his deposit on an old idea.”~Robert Breault.
