An Anamorphosis is a form of perspective.
It follows all the laws of perspective, usually more strictly than any other form.
A form of perspective in an anamorphic picture is usually distorted in some way.
Anamorphic… producing, relating to, or marked by intentional distortion (as by unequal magnification along perpendicular axes) of an image in an anamorphic lens.
Anamorphic format is the cinematography technique of shooting a widescreen picture on standard 35 mm film or other visual recording media with a non-widescreen native aspect ratio.
Anamorphic illusions, or Anamorphosis, is the effect when you have to view space from a specific vantage point to properly see an image that otherwise appears distorted.
It was very much in use during the Renaissance but has found a lot of popularity lately.
What is an anamorphic picture?
Anamorphic lenses compress images horizontally to capture an artificially widened field of view with a standard 4:3 size sensor.
