Art Deco is one of the most beautiful and fascinating architectural, interior design styles.

Art Deco sometimes referred to as Deco, is a style of visual arts, architecture, and design that first appeared in France just before World War I.

Many different aesthetics compose the movement, including different color palettes and a range of materials, from wood and plastic it is most frequently characterized by streamlined, geometric forms contrasted by rich ornamentation and linear decoration.

Art Deco influenced the design of buildings, furniture, jewelry, fashion, cars, movie theatres, trains, and everyday objects such as radios and vacuum cleaners.

It’s a modern art style that attempts to make functional objects with artistic touches.

What is Art Deco?

In France, it was called Style Moderne (the Modern Style) or Style Rayonnant (Shining Style).

In Spain, it was known as the Style of the Three Lines.

In the U.S. it was called Modernism and Art Deco.
