"The terrifying and edible beauty of Art Nouveau architecture." — Salvador Dali.

The Art Nouveau movement started in France during the 1890s as a reaction against the Academic art of the time.

It is an international style of art, architecture, and applied art, especially decorative arts.

Art Nouveau is an art movement that’s all about nature-inspired design and free-flowing curves.

Art Nouveau was a new breath of air that liberated artists from convention, opening the doors to new forms of expression based on natural forms.

The movement spread like wildfire, with many art schools adopting the style and there were lots of magazines solely dedicated to it.

"Art Nouveau got its inspiration from nature. The Bauhaus got its inspiration from engineering." — P. J. O’Rourke

Art Nouveau may seem like just another word for ‘Art Deco,’ but there are actually a whole lot of differences.
