Halloween or Hallowe’en, a contraction of Hallows’ Even or Hallows’ Evening.

It’s a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day.

It begins the time… in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints, hallows, martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

The word Halloween or Hallowe’en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin.

The word “Hallowe’en” means “Saints’ evening”.

It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve, the evening before All Hallows’ Day.

The word appears as the title of Robert Burns’ “Halloween” (1785).

John Masey Wright (1777–1866, artist) Edward Scriven (1775–1841, engraver).

Halloween is a festive way to celebrate the fall season and an exciting way to embrace the occult. It’s one of contemporary culture’s most exciting annual events.

Halloween today.

It’s primarily known for its playful traditions…

Like trick-or-treating, dressing in costumes, carving pumpkins and decorate houses and having party.

To many people, trick-or-treating is the custom most closely associated with Halloween.

Today, it is practiced by children in the neighborhood.

And it consists of dressing in costumes.

And going from door to door collecting sweets, trinkets, cookies and other goodies.

Historians have linked this practice to both Samhain and medieval customs in the British Isles.
