What Your Musical Taste Says About You

--

Your taste in music might have more to do with the culture around you than how your brain is wired.

And new research suggests that an individual’s favorite music genre is closely linked to people personality.

I think are both, the taste is the result of the culture around you and also linked to your personality.

What can you tell about a person from the music they listen to?

Based on a study conducted by professor Adrian North of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.

Over three years, he asked more than 36,000 people in more than 60 countries to rate a wide range of musical styles in order of preference.

Here is the result:

Blues fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing, gentle and at ease

Jazz fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing and at ease

Classical music fans have high self-esteem, are creative, introvert and at ease

Rap fans have high self-esteem and are outgoing

Opera fans have high self-esteem, are creative and gentle

Country and western fans are hardworking and outgoing

Reggae fans have high self-esteem, are creative, not hardworking…
