“Arguably one of the most talked about works of art at this year’s Art Basel was a banana duct-taped to a wall that sold for $120,000.” ~ CBS Miami.

It got the New York Post front page.

NYpost front cover. Dec 06, 2019

The first two banana pieces according to ARTnews.com were sold for $120,000, a third banana is being sold for $150,000 US dollars.

It’s Maurizio Cattelan’s latest work of art. It’s called ‘The Comedian’ and it is entertaining art lovers from around the globe. He taped a banana to a wall of Perrotin gallery booth at Art Basel Miami Beach.

It sold to an art lover with a very 1-percent wallet.

Are you selling art or an idea?

Artists are mad. People are mad.

It’s happen this week at the Basel Art fair in Miami.

I’m sure the art was on the wall with the intention to make news and marketing.

But it’s kind of unfair with the others artists that show at the fair. Maybe not.

He, Maurizio has more free time for networking and just think, while others artists spend time making art.

Anyway… for me it shows how important is an idea. And action. And an fruitful environment. And the courage to show up.
